Pardon the mess as we update the website!
A doula is a trained professional who provides emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period. Doulas do not provide medical care, but work alongside your healthcare team to support your comfort, confidence, and informed decision-making.
During labor, I provide continuous support such as:
Comfort techniques (massage, positioning, breathing guidance)
Emotional encouragement and reassurance
Advocacy support and helping you communicate with your care team
Partner or family support and guidance
Evidence-based information to help you make informed choices
Yes! A doula supports both you and your partner. During labor, many partners appreciate having guidance on comfort techniques and someone who can help them stay present without feeling responsible for knowing everything.
During the postpartum period, many parents feel drained or overwhelmed as they adjust to a newborn’s needs. Lack of sleep and the demands of recovery can make this time especially challenging. Having doula support in the home can provide an extra set of hands—allowing time for rest, help with light tasks, and support for older children while you focus on bonding with your baby.
Yes. I support families planning:
Hospital births
Birth center births
Home births
Induction or medicated births
Unmedicated births
Planned cesarean births
My role is to support your goals and preferences, whatever they may be.
Yes. I currently accept most Medicaid plans for doula services when eligible. Coverage depends on your specific insurance provider and plan. We can verify this together.
Medicaid currently allows all pregnant people doula coverage. This coverage is up to the first year postpartum if approved by the Care plan. As a mother your doula can provide up to 12 hours of prenatal or postpartum support as well as coverage for your birth. Whether your birth is at home, in a birth center or in a hospital, you can have a State Certified Doula with you. Under special circumstances, you may qualify for additional hours of care.
If your insurance does not cover services, I offer self-pay options and may offer payment plans when possible. I believe support during pregnancy and birth should be accessible to anyone. I will do my best to work with you to find solutions to cover your care.
